Charlene's Run was founded in memory
of Charlene (Pokusa) Lambertsen by her
family and friends as a way to honor her
tireless dedication and compassion to
animals.

Charlene was a life-long animal lover who worked tirelessly to help dogs and cats by volunteering at numerous animal shelters, rescues and humane societies, including countless hours of service at the West Suburban Humane Society. In 2000 she founded Naperville Pet Sitting, a business serving the Lisle and Naperville areas. When hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans and the gulf coast Charlene quickly organized a relief effort for a number of animal shelters in areas most severely affected. Her efforts resulted in saving an untold number of shelter animals and several new pets for Charlene’s family. Charlene most recently served as President of the Hernando County SPCA in Spring Hill Florida.

She will be forever remembered as a loving and generous person by her family many friends and the countless animals she helped during her lifetime.
